Kevin, This is your cousin, Renee. I am so thrilled to hear about your nursing home ministry! We are definitely related because I just absolutely LOVE the elderly. I have such a heart for them. There is no one in the world who is more appreciative of conversation, has the greatest stories, and who needs people in their lives than those in nursing homes. I have worked in nursing homes doing speech therapy for almost 16 years now, and there are so many BAD nursing homes that I've spent a lot of time and energy researching a BETTER way to provide long-term care. I hauled all 3 kids to New Jersey this summer to attend a conference regarding the latest in long-term care. They are called greenhouses and instead of a traditional nursing home, 10 people live in a real house and get all the care they would at a nursing home. It's cost effective, people get better care and the best part about it is that people who have actually moved into these homes are getting BETTER not worse. What a refreshing thought!! Anyway, I'm slow, but steadily pursuing obtaining some funding to open my own greenhouses here in Pleasant Hill. I would like to build 5 or 6 of them--and virtually close out the pitiful nursing home we have in Pleasant Hill. There are a lot of elderly people who are still lost and need to be reached for Christ's sake. It is my dream given to me by the DREAMGIVER Himself to fulfill my calling. I will keep reading your blogs. I'm glad dad sent me your link. My email address is:rdavis@pleasanthillschools.com Tell your family hello for me! Love and hugs, Renee
To the stalker: I usually kick a coin a bit to make sure it moves before trying to pick it up. And I don't pick up coins in front of a lot of people.
Todd: I was just going to comment on the movie theater stand up because I was there! (Did I already comment on it here in your blog Kev?) He was a RIOT.
if you keep acting like a manequin they are going to put you in a home and it won't be a nursing home (if you get my drift)

my favorite thing to do is glue coins to the floor in the mall and watch people struggle to pick them up. Ever do that?
